Hello fall! Mother Nature turned down the temps just a bit and turned up the fall colors! Spent some time out and about scouting for signs of those colors along the landscape in the Monadnock Region and lo and behold we found them! Yellow, orange, red and green. We saw them all and more! It’s almost as if Mother Nature flipped a switch, and boom, there’s a fall feel in the air. With more seasonable temperatures here, perhaps the trees will take their cue and dazzle us with their seasonal display of fiery colors. We've seen some nice pops of color on the routes we’ve traveled so far this season but we’re still waiting for the really big show. The calendar now officially says fall, but it seems Mother Nature isn’t letting go of summer. After cooler temps earlier this month, and what appeared would be an earlier than usual start to the foliage season, the warmer weather has returned which seems to be slowing the annual transformation of all those lovely leaves. Autumn in New Hampshire is truly one of my favorite times of the year. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year so it’s always hard for me to see the leaves falling from the trees. But we are indeed putting the wraps on another foliage season in New Hampshire. And what a season it was! What a treat it was for me to see the transformation of the season each week as we traveled from region to region to capture the breathtakingly beautiful scenery. Though I might be just a bit biased, I would have to say the fall colors this year in New Hampshire were (in a word or three), awesome, amazing, and astounding! Just when you think the foliage show can't get any brighter and BOOM, it does! I have been hearing reports of how awesome the foliage has been around New Hampshire's Lakes Region. So, I had to go check it out for myself. There is still an abundance of color to be seen in this region with beautiful corals, peaches, yellows and reds dotting the trees. And there is just something magical about seeing these autumn hues reflecting in the crystal clear waters below. Wow, what a week! Foliage around New Hampshire is on fire! I don’t know about you, but I have seen some pretty amazing sights this season and this week is no exception. I’m really excited to share my journey that took me west along I-89 from Concord to Mt. Kearsarge and Rollins State Park (exit 8).
