4 Waterfall Hikes in Southern New Hampshire in the Winter

There is no doubt about it, New Hampshire's White Mountains are home to some pretty amazing waterfalls. But there’s also some spectacular ones in the southern part of the state. Trust me when I say, you're going to want to put these on your winter weekend trip list! https://youtu.be/k_0TxjROq8g   Tucker Brook Falls The trail to get to Tucker Brook Falls is fairly quick.  The path from the parking lot will lead you across a small bridge and there are a couple of small hills but before long you’ll come to Tucker Brook, soon after that you’ll come to the falls.  I’ve never seen a frozen waterfall in person, so to see them in this state is pretty awesome. You can hear the water rushing behind the frozen cascade and it’s quite mesmerizing. The falls are about a 12 foot drop but seem much larger frozen.  Enjoy [...]

Celebrate the holidays with handcrafted chocolate made in New Hampshire!

Okay, it's the holiday season and what better reason to indulge in something sweet.  Not that you need a reason, so why not celebrate with handcrafted chocolate made right here in New Hampshire?  I'm not going to sugar coat this, if you like chocolate, you are in for a real treat (or two, or three)! https://youtu.be/cQSZ9bYTyV8 The delicious aroma of chocolate greets you as soon as you walk into Vicuna Chocolate Factory and Café in downtown Peterborough.  I’ve heard a lot about this bean to bar chocolate shop but this was my first time stopping by.   Everything here is made from scratch starting with hand-selected cacao beans sourced from Central and South America.   Once the raw beans arrive at their door, the magic begins. From roasting to grinding, tempering, molding and finally wrapping… they do it all.  The result is artisanal chocolate that tastes amazing! Stop by [...]

Finding Fall Foliage Off The Beaten Path in NH’s White Mountains

Spectacular seasonal scenery has arrived in New Hampshire just in time for the Columbus Holiday Weekend.  The cooler temps in recent days is helping transform the leaves on the trees into a cornucopia of color.  While the foliage is a little later than the past couple of years there is beautiful color to be seen just about everywhere you look. We took the road a little less traveled in the White Mountains to see what we could find. https://youtu.be/ekz9o86aXOY From Woodstock  head up Route 112 through Kinsman Notch, you’ll be driving along part of the River Heritage Trail, one of NH’s Scenic and Cultural Byways.  Before too long you’ll come to Beaver Pond Scenic Area.  I’ve heard this is an awesome spot to take in the fall colors and I will certainly attest to that! We caught the scene just as the fog was lifting unveiling pops of [...]
