Wow! What can I say about the leaf transformation over the past several days? I think “unbe-leaf-able” pretty much sums it up! (I’ve been waiting all week to use that one).
Seriously though, I had an amazing time seeking out the season’s best foliage — and from my view the colors are striking, stunning, and nothing short of SPECTACULAR!
I decided to hit two of our regions in one day…the Great North Woods and the White Mountains region.
Whew! What a whirlwind of a trip! I have highlighted a couple of ‘hidden gems’ in the Great North Woods leg of the trip that I’ll share with you in a video blog tomorrow and here’s a sneak peak!
Be sure to check back tomorrow for where to find this gem! Right now though, I’m going to take you on one of New Hampshire’s most iconic roadways: the Kancamagus Highway (also known as the Kanc). The Kanc/Route 112 has been designated as a National Scenic Byway by the US Department of Transportation. It’s a 32 mile stretch of road that goes from Conway to Lincoln. It is one of THE the most popular places to see the fall foliage and this year is no exception. The colors are peaking out all over! Oranges, yellows, reds, crimson, ruby, peach – and yes, there’s still some green. Take a look at the collection of photos I gathered along my journey.

Thanks for capturing the beauty of Kanc! We are planninjg to visit the area during 15-16th Oct weekend. Do you think it is the right time to catch the peak or will be too late?
Hi Sateesh… It is always hard to predict how long the colors will last. My best guess is that the color will probably hang on about another week or so in tha tpart of the state. Fingers crossed and hope you have a wonderful trip!
