The fall foliage in New Hampshire may have started a little bit later than usual due to some unseasonably warm weather in September, but the colors right now in many areas of the state sure are captivating. We saw some incredible shades of peach, coral, red and yellow lining the roads throughout the Lakes Region. Come along to see the show Mother Nature has in store for you! Learn More
I've always been fond of the lovely lakeside community of Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. One of the first things I like to do when I take a trip to the town, is head to the town docks and just sit back and enjoy the beautiful views of the Big Lake (aka Lake Winnipesaukee). But beyond the scenic beauty, you'll find the small town charm that many New Hampshire towns are known for, and let's talk about all the things you can see and do when you're visiting. https://youtu.be/y_LQJGCmG90 We packed a lot into our trip to town. As promised here are links to the places we highlighted while there: Wolfeboro Trolley Company, New Hampshire Boat Museum, The Wright Museum, and the Wolfeboro Recreational Rail Trail. There are certainly many, many more sights to see and places to visit and a great resource for more information is the Wolfeboro Area Chamber [...]

Ribbon candy. A sweet delicate treat you can pretty much only find around during the holiday season. There aren't too many candy shops that make ribbon candy, and there are even fewer that make it by hand. I'm happy to tell you the tradition is alive and well in New Hampshire! I visited with the folks at the Kellerhaus in Weirs Beach this week, where they've been hand crafting ribbon candy for about a century. The current owners, Mary Ellen and Dave Dutton are proud to be carrying on this time-honored tradition. They've been doing it for about 14 years now. Mary Ellen says they consider the process "a work of art. Every time we make it I say to myself, how many people in the world on this day are actually making ribbon candy with an 1886 crimper that is still working." I'd venture a guess to say...not [...]
Just when you think the foliage show can't get any brighter and BOOM, it does! I have been hearing reports of how awesome the foliage has been around New Hampshire's Lakes Region. So, I had to go check it out for myself. There is still an abundance of color to be seen in this region with beautiful corals, peaches, yellows and reds dotting the trees. And there is just something magical about seeing these autumn hues reflecting in the crystal clear waters below. This video blog highlights the scenery and some great stops to make as you work your way around the Big Lake! I hope you enjoy the sights as much as I did. Photos from around the Lakes Region.
I wanted to start this week with a big THANK YOU to Mother Nature for turning the temp down just a bit and delivering a crisp fall feel to the Granite State. Seems like the cool nights and warm days are just the push the leaves needed to start making the transformation into all those amazing colors we love so much! Read on...
