6 Photo Opps for Fall Foliage around NH’s Merrimack Valley Region

Just because it’s the last weekend of October, doesn’t mean we have to forget about the foliage.  We mapped out a route around the Merrimack Valley Region where fall is still hanging on for a bit longer.  Come on and follow along! https://youtu.be/nubCdmg1yps What better way to start the day than with a trip to Canterbury Shaker Village.  Even in the morning fog it’s such a beautiful spot! This national historic landmark is dedicated to preserving the heritage of the Canterbury Shakers. Explore the grounds, which includes 25 restored original Shaker buildings, 4 reconstructed Shaker buildings, and 700 acres of forests, gardens and nature trails.  If you time it right you might just get a glimpse of their resident cat.     Finished up at Shaker Village just in time for a mid-morning coffee.  My go to place for my morning brew is Revelstoke on Main Street in Concord.  [...]

5 Stops to Spot Seasonal Sights in the Monadnock Region

The long holiday weekend is here, and foliage is popping just about everywhere.  Why not make a trip to the Monadnock Region to see some stunning fall scenery framing some cool spots for photo opps. https://youtu.be/VRFEIg_pJ1g To start our day we headed to the village of Ashuelot in the southwestern corner of the state.  We were there to see what local historians call one of New Hampshire’s most elaborate covered bridges: the Ashuelot Bridge.  Originally it was built as a way to get wood across the river for use by the Ashuelot Railroad as the railroad had a station located right in town. With access to the Ashuelot Rail Trail located right next to the bridge we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to break out the bikes for a ride. 5 Fall Photo Opps in New Hampshire’s White Mountains

Fall foliage is looking pretty spectacular in New Hampshire right now.  Color is coming out just about everywhere. The White Mountains Region is always a favorite spot for leaf peeping and this year is no exception. Check out this route that takes you off the beaten path! https://youtu.be/_h0JP5Qa_Aw    Why not kick off this trip with a waterfall!  There’s several places to access Livermore Falls, we found a spot in Campton on the western side of the Pemigewasset River.  Follow the path down a hill, and within just a few minutes you’ll be at a great place to take in the falls and the surroundings.  From this vantage point you have a great view of the cascades that tumble down about 25 feet through a small gorge.  A bonus at this local is the old railroad line… spend a few minutes walking along the path winds along the River.
