The calendar now officially says fall, but it seems Mother Nature isn’t letting go of summer. After cooler temps earlier this month, and what appeared would be an earlier than usual start to the foliage season, the warmer weather has returned which seems to be slowing the annual transformation of all those lovely leaves. Even still, we did find some peaks of color popping out around the White Mountains. Learn More

Road Trip Time! It’s a beautiful time of year for a road trip to New Hampshire. For anyone who enjoys a scenic drive I’ve got just the place. Head to the Franconia Notch area and keep your eyes out for beautiful spikes of purple, pink, blue and white along the roadsides. I’m talking about lupines, lots and lots of lupines. Learn More
Make your own Loofah from Fiber How cool would it be to make your own loofah out of fiber from farm animals? I’ll tell you, very cool and easy too! And you don’t need to have your own farm to do it. Nestled in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa offers visitors the opportunity to experience their working farm and take a class in wet felting. I stopped by this spring to see what it was all about. As a native Granite Stater, I have to admit I had never heard of wet felting so I was pretty keen to learn the basic technique. Learn More
To say the Ice Castles in Lincoln is ‘cool’ would be, well, a well-intended pun! This is the fourth winter that the White Mountains town of Lincoln has been home to the Ice Castles, an icy mansion that takes shape from 3 key ingredients: icicles, cold weather, and a whole lot of creativity. Step inside this acre-sized structure, walk around the massive glacial pillars of ice and you can’t help but get whisked away to a magical wintry wonderland. Check out these amazing images
Wow! What can I say about the leaf transformation over the past several days? I think "unbe-leaf-able" pretty much sums it up! (I've been waiting all week to use that one). Seriously though, I had an amazing time seeking out the season's best foliage -- and from my view the colors are striking, stunning, and nothing short of SPECTACULAR!
