This unassuming candy store in Littleton isn’t so little, boasting the record of having the longest candy counter in the world.
When you walk through the doors of Chutters, you are immediately greeted by the scent of sugar and homemade fudge and can practically hear Gene Wilder humming Pure Imagination. This unassuming little shop nestled in downtown Littleton has all kinds of cute knick-knacks and souvenirs, from homemade jams and jellies to postcards to home décor – but the real draw is the 112-foot candy counter. It is the longest candy counter in the world, with the Guinness Book of World Records award to prove it. Running the length of the entire store, there are over 500 different candies in over 800 glass jars. The options include old-school favorite, hard-to-find flavors, as well as jelly beans and gummy bears separated out by flavor. These penny candies are sold by the pound, with visitors’ only complaints being the almost overwhelming confection selection, and eyes being bigger than their stomach.
